This is me

Recently listed by the Houston Business Journal as one of its “40 Under 40”, Greg consistently gives back to his community, profession, and others. His leadership outside of the office is valuable to any firm and helps set an example to attorneys on the value of community involvement and networking.
"Overcoming the odds is nothing new to Gregory Griffin...Griffin completed his first half-marathon in 2015 — despite having been diagnosed with a muscular disease when he was almost two years old.", Houston Business Journal, June 2019

Greg attended school at Baylor University and the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. While at the Illinois Insttitute of Art, he was a founding member of his school’s Gay-Straight Alliance, P.R.O.U.D. (People Respecting Other’s Unique Differences).

He served as the Chair of the Houston City Group for the Legal Marketing Association in 2017 and then began a two year term as a Director for the Southwest Region Board of Directors of LMA. In 2017 he was named “Rising Star” by the League of Women Voters. As a board member of Pride Houston, a key objective was to grow community awareness to include representation to every member of the LGBTQIA+ family in a year that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the historic riots that took place at the Stonewall Inn in 1969.

Greg recently completed his term as the first male president of the Houston Bar Association Auxiliary. By doing so, he was an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Bar Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Kiwanis Club of Houston, who’s key objective is to serve the community through service projects fostering these ideas starting with high school students through their high school level, Key Club. While in high school, he served as Lieutenant Governor of Division 23 of the Texas Oklahoma District of Key Club. He also served on the Marketing Communications to the Board of Legacy Community Health.
Being born with a rare muscle disorder, Greg decided to overcome the stigma and excuses he had lived with all of his life. He slowly started running in 2014, completing his first 5K and then went on to complete the Aramco Houston Half Marathon in 2015 and 2017. There's also a story about how Greg threw the blow dryer into his brother's bathtub, and his dad thinks the electrocution helped Greg's treatment.
I advise attorneys
and firms in strategic growth
and opportunities
Throughout my career I have been respected enough to have a seat at the table where I shared strategic ideas and analytical processes that helped firms grow in personnel and revenue. I have led teams and partnered with marketing committees to implement new websites, brand campaigns, events, marketing materials, business development programs, and many other progressive initiatives for the firms. We created the “dog-and-pony” shows going to potential and current client offices to increase awareness of our services and to educate the client. I have been the brainchild behind events that elevated the firm’s reputation in the business world.

Prior to serving as Director of Client Development for the boutique estate and probate litigation firm Ford + Bergner LLP, I served as Director of Business Development at Mehaffy Weber, a Texas based full service firm. I originally started my legal career while working for my mom as a reason to miss a few hours a day of high school! While both of these positions afforded me a well-rounded skillset, including excellent relationship building and time management skills, I excel at:
• Understanding the legal mind the legal environment, and knowing clients’ expectations and identifying key opportunities for attorneys to participate and placing them in an arena for them to build relationships with clients.
• Analytical analysis of the sales process and coaching and working with attorneys to help them understand the sales cycle.
• Placing attorneys in roles that showcase their skill to better make a name for themselves and to give them standing as a thought-leader.
• Rankings, RFP responses, league tables, and experience database management to stay abreast of latest trends inside and outside of the firm.

Proficiencies:
• Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, CRM, Microsoft products, Apple applications, and more.
